This edgy leading actor from the U.S. has developed a powerful reputation for playing a variety of memorable characters in film. He’s starred in American westerns, horror/thrillers and dramatic period pieces. Some of his better-known films include “Wicked Spring,” “An Ordinary Killer,” “Book of Ruth, Journey of Faith” and Lionsgate’s 2008 hit “Dean Teaster’s Ghost Town.” |
DJ was asked to co-star in director M.R. Shahjahan’s cross-over thriller “Karma Crime, Passion, Reincarnation,” produced by Golden Ticket Films & Picture Perfect Films and released theatrically across India in 2009. DJ actively seeks projects to bridge the audiences from the east and west. He is excited to be joining the cast of “Darkest Night” with Gothic Productions International.

GPI Signs Anne Gauthier To Be Starring Actress in Film Darkest Night

Since she
lived in France for many years, this Filipina actress has
had no problem playing a character with a French
background. French-Filipina, Anne Gauthier has always been passionate about theatre and film. She took acting courses in France at the well-renowned Cours Florent and Acting International. She has performed in several commercials in the Philippines for Globe Telecom, PhCare, as well as acting in plays. Her varied and interesting background makes her an open-minded and curious person, always eager to travel and discover other cultures. Gothic Productions International, is extremely pleased to announce that Anne will be playing the leading actress role, Susan Reyes, Ken Tyler's girlfriend and fiancee, in our upcoming horror film, Darkest Night, to be filmed on location in Luzon. Susan and Ken are the lead characters in the film's story. "I was both amazed and pleased to find a role in a horror film with such dramatic depth," she has said. "I don't have to just scare people in this film. I can get into a character who truly feels like a real person." In the storyline, the character she plays, Susan Reyes, comes from a family of mixed Vietnamese, French, and Filipino heritage. Susan is also in college studying to be a linguist. Anne happens to speak three languages fluently, including French and English. In happy addition, her cinematic beauty actually "glows" on camera, with lots of charisma. With all of this taken into account, Anne was a natural and beneficial choice as an accomplished actress to play Susan Reyes in the film. Jill has said she is happy and excited to be in the cast of a psychological horror film like Darkest Night. Appearing in the role of Chelsea Reyes will be Jill Palencia. Chelsea is the adopted and stubborn younger, teen-aged sister of one of the leading characters, Susan Reyes (played by Anne Gauthier). Even though Jill graduated with a degree in business management, acting has always been her greatest passion. She started her acting career in television commercials and independent films. She was one of the supporting characters in Mayohan (Maytime), one of the 2010 Cinemalaya finalists. She also appeared in the recent film The Grave Bandits, a film of pure adventure, horror and dark comedy. Jill has said she is happy and excited to be in the cast of a psychological horror film like Darkest Night.

“I'm looking forward to being a part of Darkest Night, which I believe is an excellent film,” Elle has said. Elle Velasco has filled the role of Carol Santos, the compassionate younger sister of the main family's patriarch, David Espino (played by Allan Dale Alojipan). Elle is an independent film, stage, television and voice actress. Her love for acting was recently rekindled when she was asked to play a major role in a film while performing duties as assistant director. She also emcees for corporate events and private parties, and conducts customized creativity and theater workshops. She has played a leading role in the hit Philippine film Xenoa 2: Clash of the Bloods in 2008. “I was happy to be a part of Darkest Night, which I believe is an excellent film,” Elle has said.

"I am thrilled and humbled,” Marife has said, “to be part of Darkest Night and such an outstanding cast for this outstanding film.” Agira Espino, the wife of the family's youngest brother, Steven (played by Nic Campos) was played by the Filipina leading indie film star Marife Necessito. She has acted on stage, in film, and in television. She was cast in the film Mammoth with Mexican actor Gael García Bernal and American actress Michelle Williams. Earlier in her life, Marife did creative writing for Tagalog “komiks” and romance novels. She later shifted to acting for theater where she was trained by senior actors Cecile Guidote-Alvarez and Angie Ferro. Her theatrical stint paved the way for her to act in television and independent films. She has also played leading roles in such popular films as Black Market Love, Panganggo, Blind Luck, and 2011's Taksikab. Darkest Night To Have Film & Stage Star Zeny Sevilla Play Mother of Film's Main Family

"Truly, acting gives me joy and contentment in life, and being given this opportunity to be part of Darkest Night is another blessing, " Zeny has said. Appearing as Reina Espino, the mother and grandmother of the Darkest Night's main family, as well as wife of Alan Espino (played by Raymond Osmeña) is Zeny Sevilla. At one time, Zeny thought finishing a Bachelor's degree in mathematics would bring her contentment and success as a person. However, one day she found herself attending acting workshops and eventually became a resident actor of Entablado Pilipino managed by her mentor, the late Rusty Sangalang. Since then, she has been working with different projects on television like Agua Bendita and Nginig, an ice tea commercial, a short film entitled La Cancion ... and stage plays such as Ispiritu ni Carlito (as Ms. Dulce), Daloy ng Lason (as Hermana Penchang), Florante at Laura (as Reina Floresca) and Ibong Adarna (as Valeriana). Zeny has also assisted GPI greatly with casting for this film via her many friends in acting. She has the additional credit "Associate Casting Director" in return for helping the film to bring in so much excellent talent. "Truly, acting gives me joy and contentment in life, and being given this opportunity to be part of Darkest Night is another blessing," Zeny has said. "My role as Reina Espino is somewhat similar to my own family," she added. "I was raised by traditional religious Catholic parents. My Mom is very sensitive, caring, loving but a worrying type who always carries a rosary with her. And now I am playing a character just like her." GPI Signs International Malaysian Mainstream Film Actor, Justin Chan, for Major Role in Darkest Night

in the family, Jeffrey Espino, was Justin Chan, from
Kuala Lumpur. Justin, a native Malaysian, was
trained in the U.K. and spent almost a decade there in the
entertainment industry. “I was thrilled about being able to act in such an original and exciting film as this," Justin has said. "Just reading the script gave me chills." While in England, he played a role in an HBO production titled As You Like It, with Kevin Kline, Alfred Molina and Bryan Blessed (directed by Kenneth Branagh). There, he also did additional work in film, stage, and television. He returned to Malaysia four years ago and continued with similar work. He played a prominent role in the feature film Jarum Halus, which won Best Digital Film at the Malaysian Film Awards in 2008. In 2009, he played the role of Rufus for the television series made for mobile phones, Dimensions, alongside Jehan Miskin and Dhanya Nambiar. He will continue in the hit series' second season. Justin also appeared as a lead in Khairil Bahar's (winner of the Anugerah Skrin Award for the film Ciplak) second film, London Calling. Issa has said she was eager to indulge in her acting passion again, especially in what she calls “a quality film” like Darkest Night. Appearing as Michelle Espino, the matriarch of the film's main family, is Issa Litton, a native Filipina. She is most easily recognized in the Philippines as a television and events host and emcee. "This is a unique and challenging opportunity for me," Issa has said. "My character has many layers of both good and evil. The writer did an excellent job of making Michelle both a dark and scheming, yet loving, sympathetic character. She comes off to me as a very real person, like someone I could meet in real life." She started her acting work in theater, television commercials and short films. She has also worked as an assistant director, so she is familiar with the film and video production process. Acting is one of her many loves, one she has had to put on hold for the past few years. However, it's a love she has not forgotten. Issa has said she truly enjoyed indulging her acting passion again, especially in what she calls “a quality film” like Darkest Night.

Shakespearean Actor Nic Campos To Portray Darkest Night Family's Youngest Brother

An accomplished Shakespearean stage actor, Nic Campos, a Filipino, plays Steven Espino, the main family's youngest brother. "My work in Shakespearean drama has given me a lot of experience in portraying members of tragic families," Nic has said. "Steven reminds me of some of Shakespeare's characters. He's really a worthy person but has weaknesses that cause him to fail." Nic returned to the Philippines last October after earning a bachelor of science degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in the U.S. His first love has always been stage acting, which he has already begun pursuing in Manila. During his college years, Nic played some of the greatest parts in Shakespeare's canon, including Hamlet, Richard III, and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet. Darkest Night was his first cinema performance, an acting field he has said he is excited about breaking into via this film.

Taksikab's Kevin Vitug to Appear as Amorous, Adventurous Cousin in Darkest Night

"I like the family drama and real romance in the film Darkest Night," he has said. "It's not like any horror film I've ever seen before." Kevin Vitug is also a native Filipino and appears in the role of Ricky Santos, a young, adventurous cousin related to the main family, the Espinos. He participated in the Performing Arts Club in high school, where he acted in plays like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and a parody of the animated Beauty and the Beast film. In college, Kevin appeared in a supporting role in the comedy-themed student film Pendong (2009). Months later, he also appeared in the film Sponsor (2010). He then appeared in an important role in the Philippine independent feature film Taksikab (2011). "I like the family drama and real romance in the film Darkest Night," he has said. "It's not like any horror film I've ever seen before." Even from the days of his youth, Kevin dreamed of being in film, and has said truly enjoyed extending his professional experience in Darkest Night.

Jonas has said he was really enthusiastic about lending his dramatic talents to the cast of Darkest Night, as he has said, "I feel a real emotional link to my character in the film." Within the overall story, Jonas Gruet appears as the film's documentary reporter, Danny Valencia, a man with a passion for truth and sympathy for the Espino family's tragic tale. A native Filipino, he has acted in theater, film and television. He also appeared in a leading role in the Philippine independent feature film Taksikab (2011). He also appeared in the mainstream film Two Timer (2002). Jonas has said he was really enthusiastic about lending his dramatic talents to the cast of Darkest Night, as he has said, "I feel a real emotional link to my character in the film. Bringing out the truth is what acting is all about, the truth of the person you're creating before your audience." His character takes the film's story from 2003, trying to "fill in the blanks" that lead the audience from an unsolved crime eight years ago, to the present day.
